It is almost 5 years since we relocated to Chiang Rai, Thailand. We know without any shadow of a doubt that this is where we are meant to be!
Penny turned 41 this year. It has been an amazing year as we have seen the work of Home of the Open Heart being built up again after the 2 previous years of being in a ‘lull’ due to her ill-health. We are so glad to report that the cancer is still in remission & although she needs to ‘pace herself’, she has a renewed outlook on life, wanting to make each day ‘count’ with renewed passion & daily ready to ‘go for it’. We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary in December and look forward to the years ahead.
Luke (20) proposed to his long-time good friend Pennie Polglase (we are thrilled with his choice…a most delightful bride) & they will be married on January 17th. After the wedding he hopes to study a Bachelor of Media. He currently is working long hours for a courier/packing company in Adelaide, (Australia) trying to make as much money as possible for the year ahead!
Jaci (18) Returned from her DTS (Discipleship Training School) with Marine Reach Medical Ships in the Fiji Islands mid year. She settled into Adelaide, living with Luke, at Brooklyn Park, where Jaci is happy to be only 10 minutes drive from the beach. She has managed to get herself more relief work than she can manage, at local child-care centres & waits to find out if she is accepted into university to begin to study medicine in 2004.
Zac (15) completed year 9 in September & is now into his tenth year of school at the YWAM school here in Chiang Rai. He loves to play a sport that has been a craze here for more than a year …Ultimate Frisbee!
Caleb (13) now in year 8 says he would prefer to live in Australia. He manages to ‘suffer through’ his school work knowing he has a good book, the computer or play station waiting for him.
Paul (45) continues to be daddy to each of the little ones at “Home of the Open Heart”, feeding their heart need with love. He teaches at the YWAM school (as does Penny too) & seems to be called upon to be everyone’s plumber! He is seeing doors open in miraculous ways to be training & equipping pastors/leaders, this being his main passion.
Every blessing to you at this time and in 2004
