Dear friends,
We wanted to let you know that Caleb’s surgery went well. As you know, his heels were broken into many pieces, the left heel being more serious. The orthopedic surgeon operated on both heels and while this past week has been a difficult and painful time.
Two weeks ago when Caleb jumped from the school balcony, we thought it surely couldn’t be that bad. We followed the advice of our health insurance company, (an amazing company…. if anyone wants to be insured with a caring & thorough health insurance, look into Banner Group out of the UK!) and Caleb was airlighted to Bangkok for further tests, which revealed 2 fractured vertebrae and communition fractures to both calcareous (heels). It has been a difficult time but we have seen significant improvement in Caleb’s pain levels in the past 2 days and even though it seems he may be still needing to be in hospital for a while longer, we are still not sure how long, a week maybe more. We are so grateful that his pain is becoming less and is off the morphine now.
I am doing okay too, I plan to have tests to see what the cancer is doing starting June 19th, so I will let you all know what the results are when we know. We continue to pray for a miracle in this regard. It has been such a treat this past week to have our sons join us from Australia & USA. Luke (& his wife Pennie) arrived to help us out with our ministry for a year. Plus a huge surprise was that Zac’s friends from his course in USA put together & bought him a ticket to come home & visit us, so he is here for a week, leaves this Thursday night. It is so much fun to have our adult sons together, joy! We have been having a “hospital party”!
Thanks for praying… please do continue. We are continuing to trust God, He is an amazingly faithful Father, who always brings good out of difficulties and teaches & refines us to be more like Him in the process. We enjoy being part of His family.
love & thanks,
Penny (for Paul & all the Wilcox family)
