Dear Friends,

Well, the time for our journey has finally come. At the time of typing this we have 4 hours before departure from Chiang Rai. Thanks again to everyone who has played a part in seeing this surprise and dream become a reality, whether it has been standing with us in prayers, through financial support, or simply in emailing us encouragements. It has been an overwhelming experience to see the Lord put all this together.

I thought it might be nice for you all to know what we will be doing and where we will be going so here is an outline for you so that you can be praying for us.

June 8th – Chiang Rai – Los Angeles
June 9th – rent a car and drive up to Hume Lake, outside of Fresno, to visit our son Zac
June 12th – drive back to LA
June 13th – fly to Miami for connecting flight to Bolivia
June 14th – arrive in La Paz, Bolivia
June 15th-16th – tour of Lake Titikaka
June 17th – fly to Cochabamba
June 17th-22nd – visit the many places that were a part of my life in going to boarding school there in Cochabamba
June 22nd – fly to Guayaramerin – where Dad ran a Bible College and trained pastors/church planters and where I spent a fair bit of my early childhood
June 23rd – fly to San Joaquin – where I was born
June 24th – fly to Trinidad – where my brother Peter and sister Joy were born and where we spent some years
June 25th-28th – join a boat cruise along a tributary of the Amazon
June 29th – fly to Santa Cruz
June 30th – fly to Miami – we will visit dear friends of ours there
July 2nd – fly to LA
July 2nd-5th – relax in a beach resort at Santa Monica Beach
July 5th – fly back to Bangkok (we actually arrive in BKK on the 7th)
July 7th – fly home to Chiang Rai.

• Please be praying for safety in all our travels and also for good health throughout. Pray for me while I am driving in the States!
• One area of prayer is upon arriving in La Paz. We will be at very high altitudes (over 10,000 feet above sea level) and this may be hard for us, especially for Penny who has never been at such high altitudes before
• We will be flying in a lot of little planes in Bolivia (especially in the Lowlands – the Beni) so please pray for Penny, as they most likely will not be the most comfortable flights one would want to take!
• One blessing will be that Penny will be able to take in the Amazon river systems as we will be flying low over that region.
• Please also pray that going through all the security in the airports in the USA will not be long and drawn out, especially for Penny’s sake. Standing and waiting is not the funnest at the best of times!!
• Please also be praying that our time in Santa Monica will be a good restful one for both of us.
• Praise God for a very kind friend who has paid for this special treat for us.
