Dear family & friends,
Last update we sent was Sept 13th from Chiang Rai. We’d just returned from our trip to Mexico where we’d found out from a CT scan done there that the cancer had grown and as advised we came to Australia to seek more treatment. We thought that might have been 3 months radiation. We arrived in Adelaide on 16th September keen in the short-term for pain relief and in the longer-term for some extra help/treatment that would shrink the cancer.
I have spent most of the past 3 weeks in hospital, getting pain relief and having tests/biopsies to ascertain the options for treatment. The short version is that I will begin chemotherapy this week…. definitely not excited about that but I do have peace about it and it seems necessary at this point.
This past month we have felt loved and overwhelmingly cared for by so many of you as you’ve written kind words of encouragement, including messages of love sent in many different forms. Thank you so much to each of you who have helped us cover the costs of the “life journey” so far, we deeply appreciate your kindness and your generosity.
I am uncertain if I will spend more time in or out of the hospital in the next month, waiting for doctors orders! 
I am so grateful, so blessed to have the support of Paul & my kids here in Adelaide. Paul will probably go back to Chiang Rai for a couple of weeks from this weekend to give some needed support of our work, especially at Baan Nam Jai, then he’ll return to me/us here in Adelaide by the end of this month. While he is gone, I am hoping my mum and sister will be able to visit for a bit from Brisbane.

Hope your mum and sister do get down to see you. No doubt the nursing staff are loving having you for a patient, always smiling, no whinging, always positive, they will hate it when you leave!!!
so very happy with that, Shannon tells me, I look normal now

Alls well this end, my cousin (who was in YWAM Surrey for awhile) is now living with me which is good, mind you I do miss not having my own space! My sister is coming over in a couple of weeks for five days (looking for an outfit for her second daughters wedding) and Brenda and her daughter Zoe, would you believe, arrive on the same day. Bren is staying for 9 days, can’t wait to see her.
I have been on a weightloss programe and have lost 25kilos this year

You are such an inspiration to so many people Penny. It is incredible to see your faith unshaken through all of the trials you’ve been through. I pray the Lord will guide the doctors and heal your body as you begin chemotherapy treatment. See you in a few months. 
My heart aches for you as you have to go through all of this. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and in faith I anticipate seeing you in a healthier state come January.
